EMC Laboratory Supervisor Leadership Opportunity

GPAC is partnering with a reputable manufacturer to find an experienced EMC Laboratory Supervisor. This leader will oversee the day-to-day operations of the EMC laboratory, ensuring smooth execution of testing services and research projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the development of test plans, conducting troubleshooting, analyzing results, and preparing technical documentation according to GPAC's Quality Assurance program.
Main Responsibilities:- Run daily operations of the EMC laboratory, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources effectively.
- Supervise team members in scheduling, budgeting, and goal achievement, collaborating closely with department heads.
- Work with the contracts department to estimate time and effort for EMC projects.
- Review and approve test plans and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Manage Lab and R&D projects from conception to completion, driving innovation and efficiency.
- Apply expert-level EMI/RFI troubleshooting skills to identify and mitigate emissions and immunity failures.
- Analyze equipment and test results to provide accurate justifications when troubleshooting is not possible.
- Communicate regularly with clients on project progress and technical consultation, fostering strong relationships.
- Streamline EMC test plan and report development, leveraging software tools to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with software developers to improve EMC testing and reporting capabilities.
- Oversee internal and external calibrations of EMC test equipment to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Identify EMC research and development needs, crafting compelling proposals to secure funding.
- Work closely with the EMC Engineering Manager to develop new commercial products and services, driving business growth.
- Conduct regular training sessions for team members and industry professionals, promoting knowledge sharing and expertise.
- Travel occasionally to lead and perform field service testing at client facilities, expanding GPAC's reach.
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant fields, with five years of experience in a related field.
- Three or more years of management experience with teams and technical services.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-461 and/or IEC 61000 series emissions and immunity tests.
- Knowledge of spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, oscilloscopes, RF amplifiers, and vector network analyzers.
- Experience developing EMC test plans and reports.
- Understanding of EMC equipment calibrations and measurement uncertainty analysis.
We offer a competitive salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
