Lead EMC Engineering Team

Gpac partners with a reputable manufacturer seeking an experienced EMC Laboratory Supervisor to lead the EMC engineering team. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, technical services, research, and lab activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run day-to-day operations of the EMC laboratory.
  • Supervise and coordinate scheduling and budgeting to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with the contracts department on time and effort estimates for EMC projects.
  • Review and approve test plans and procedures.
  • Manage Lab and R&D projects.
  • Perform expert-level EMI/RFI troubleshooting and noise mitigation.
  • Analyze equipment and test results to provide justifications when troubleshooting is not possible.
  • Communicate regularly with clients on project progress and technical consultation.
  • Streamline EMC test plan and report development.
  • Work with software developers to enhance EMC testing and reporting capabilities.
  • Oversee internal and external calibrations of EMC test equipment.
  • Identify EMC research and development needs and write proposals.
  • Collaborate with the EMC Engineering Manager to develop new commercial products and services.
  • Conduct regular technical training and courses for internal team members and industry professionals.
  • Travel occasionally to lead and perform field service testing at customer facilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related fields.
  • Five years of experience in a related field.
  • Three or more years of management experience with teams and technical services.
  • Experience performing MIL-STD-461 and/or IEC 61000 series emissions and immunity tests.
  • Knowledge of spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, oscilloscopes, RF amplifiers, and vector network analyzers.
  • Experience developing EMC test plans and test reports.
  • Knowledge of EMC equipment calibrations and measurement uncertainty analysis.
Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
