About the RoleThis is a 13-week contract position with the opportunity to work with a dynamic team at Magnet Medical. As a CT Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to operate the CT scanner and obtain high-quality images of patients. You will also be responsible for preparing patients for scans, verifying patient information, and ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken to minimize radiation exposure.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CT scanning protocols and be able to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals. You will also need to be able to maintain accurate records and document patient information in accordance with hospital policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable.
- Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and prior imaging, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
- Position patients properly on the CT table to obtain the necessary images, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Instruct patients on how to hold their breath or remain still during scans, as required by the procedure.
- Operate and calibrate the CT scanner, ensuring proper settings for each scan, including parameters such as radiation dose, slice thickness, and imaging protocols.
- Administer contrast agents or dye injections (under physician or radiologist guidance) to enhance image clarity during certain CT procedures.
- Monitor the equipment during imaging to ensure high-quality images are captured and that no errors occur during the process.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A valid certification in computed tomography (CT) technology.
- Experience working with CT scanners and a strong understanding of scanning protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
- A commitment to maintaining accurate records and documenting patient information in accordance with hospital policies and regulations.
- Ability to lift patients and move equipment safely and efficiently.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $85,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This amount may vary depending on experience and qualifications.
