Job Overview

The Clinical Nurse Educator plays a vital role in education and serves as a staff development resource and mentor. This position supports collaboration between academic and practice settings, promoting continuous learning and professional development through in-services, education program development, implementation, and evaluation.

About the Role

This is a full-time, day shift position that requires 72 hours per two-week pay period. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge and skills related to clinical nursing practice, with a focus on adult education principles and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement education programs to enhance nursing skills and knowledge
  • Serve as a mentor and staff development resource for nurses
  • Collaborate with academic and practice settings to promote continuous learning and professional development
  • Conduct competency assessments and evaluate education program effectiveness
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • At least 7 years of clinical experience in nursing, including 3 years in acute care/medical-surgical units
  • Previous experience designing, facilitating, and validating education or training experiences
  • Fully proficient in all areas covered in Basic Integrated Nursing General Orientation
  • Proficient in EMR applications, workflows, and documentation practices
  • A current Vermont RN license or Advanced Practice License
  • Unit-specific training certifications as required per department operational framework
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as a nurse educator or in a similar role is preferred. Specialty certification in Nursing Professional Development and one unit-specific certification are also highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $46,595 - $72,120 per year, based on a 72-hour workweek and taking into account the cost of living in Killington, VT. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
