Position Overview

TRC is seeking a seasoned Principal GIS Consultant to enhance our leadership team. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing innovative geospatial solutions for major electric and gas utilities across North America. The successful candidate will engage directly with clients, technical teams, and industry collaborators to identify needs and deliver effective solutions. This position requires travel up to 50%, with flexibility to work from various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing the deployment of geospatial initiatives from conception to execution.
  2. Collaborating with clients and internal teams to create and implement technology strategies, project plans, and requirements analysis.
  3. Leading proposal teams in response to RFPs, including defining work breakdown structures, scope, timelines, budgets, and partnerships.
  4. Identifying market opportunities and emerging technologies that align with TRC's business objectives.
  5. Building and nurturing strong client relationships to foster trust and collaboration.
  6. Providing mentorship and guidance to team members in their professional growth.
Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in GIS.
  2. Proven expertise in implementing GIS solutions with proficiency in Esri ArcGIS technologies.
  3. Ability to translate client requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  4. Experience in managing project teams and utilizing project management methodologies.
  5. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a focus on client engagement.
  6. Strong relationship-building capabilities with clients.
  7. In-depth knowledge of project management principles, including scope, schedule, and budgeting.
  8. Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.
