Job Title: Export Compliance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Export Compliance Officer to join our team at Wilcox Industries. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring our compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and enforce policies and procedures to support export compliance.
  • Provide assistance to the company in all facets of export/import and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the company as a technical expert when speaking with regulatory authorities.
  • Apply for export and import licenses, maintain required documentation, and ensure compliance with U.S. law and company policy.
  • Conduct random audits of export logs, shipping procedures, and AES submittals.
  • Manage customs brokers and export compliance consultants.
  • Perform post-entry audits against customs broker electronic data, vendor and shipper invoices, and import documentation.
  • Participate in the training of individuals and groups pertaining to export and import regulations.
  • Review and maintain all non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) for the company and maintain a log with status of expiration.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in international business, law, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in export compliance, international trade, logistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, and other relevant international trade regulations.
  • Experience in the industry in which the company operates, such as aerospace, defense, technology, or manufacturing, is often preferred.
  • Familiarity with compliance software, global trade management systems, SAP, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meticulously review documentation and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex regulations and apply them to company operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, training materials, and communicating with regulatory authorities.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple compliance activities, deadlines, and documentation.
  • High ethical standards and integrity to ensure compliance and handle sensitive information.
  • Precision in handling and reviewing documentation and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactive and ability to anticipate compliance challenges and implement solutions proactively.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
