Position Overview:

The Automotive Service Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the service department's daily operations, ensuring efficiency and excellence in service delivery. This role involves managing a diverse team, including technicians, service advisors, and support staff, to achieve operational goals and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage employee schedules and compensation plans.
  • Set and monitor departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Parts Manager to ensure timely availability of necessary parts.
  • Work closely with the shop foreman to guarantee that customer vehicles are serviced efficiently.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings and participate in management discussions.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for the service department.
  • Ensure the growth of customer pay gross profit in line with company standards.
  • Maintain technician performance and proficiency as per established benchmarks.
  • Engage with technical schools for recruitment of skilled technicians.
  • Build partnerships with OEMs and third-party vendors.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints effectively.
  • Inspire, train, and develop team members.
  • Communicate service needs and maintenance effectively to customers.
  • Uphold the company's values, quality standards, and integrity.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Experience with automotive software systems is required.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude.
  • Track record of enhancing fixed operations through customer satisfaction and effective management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive service management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must pass pre-employment screenings.
