Position Overview:
The Automotive Service Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the service department's daily operations, ensuring efficiency and excellence in service delivery. This role involves managing a diverse team, including technicians, service advisors, and support staff, to achieve operational goals and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage employee schedules and compensation plans.
- Set and monitor departmental goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with the Parts Manager to ensure timely availability of necessary parts.
- Work closely with the shop foreman to guarantee that customer vehicles are serviced efficiently.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings and participate in management discussions.
- Prepare and manage the annual budget for the service department.
- Ensure the growth of customer pay gross profit in line with company standards.
- Maintain technician performance and proficiency as per established benchmarks.
- Engage with technical schools for recruitment of skilled technicians.
- Build partnerships with OEMs and third-party vendors.
- Address and resolve customer complaints effectively.
- Inspire, train, and develop team members.
- Communicate service needs and maintenance effectively to customers.
- Uphold the company's values, quality standards, and integrity.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills are essential.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Experience with automotive software systems is required.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude.
- Track record of enhancing fixed operations through customer satisfaction and effective management.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive service management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass pre-employment screenings.
