Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility (Internal Medicine/Family Practice) to join our team at the California State Prison, Sacramento (CSP-SAC). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide medical care to patients in a correctional facility, performing medical assessments and providing medical treatment as appropriate and authorized by the medical license.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical care to patients in a correctional facility, including performing medical assessments and providing medical treatment as appropriate and authorized by the medical license.
- Provide clinical consultation to midlevel providers and other staff, and instruct nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols and adhere to professional medical standards of care.
- Perform on-call duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices in internal medicine and family practice.
- Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
- Possession of a valid internal medicine or family medicine Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board; or admissibility to an internal medicine or family medicine Specialty examination as evidenced by a written statement from the Secretary of the American Board of Family Medicine or the Secretary of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
