Job Title: Senior Product Security Researcher

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Security Researcher to join our team. As a key member of our Product Security team, you will play a critical role in identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities in our products and cloud offerings.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong background in secure programming, system security concepts, and offensive and defensive security techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux, operating system concepts, networking, and cloud computing, as well as a strong understanding of web/application security threats and defenses.

Responsibilities
  • Discover new security vulnerabilities in our products and cloud offerings through bug hunting and security research
  • Perform root-cause analysis of product vulnerabilities to ensure complete vulnerability remediation, working closely with our product teams to develop and review solutions
  • Serve as a product security subject-matter expert when collaborating with stakeholders across the company and beyond, including executives, engineering, infosec, privacy, legal, support, sales, customers, security researchers, and industry partners
  • Work with a growth mindset and learn about the latest trends in cybersecurity
Requirements
  • Expertise in secure programming, system security concepts, and offensive and defensive security techniques
  • Strong familiarity with Linux, operating system concepts, networking, and cloud computing
  • Experience writing SAST rules, fuzzing/instrumenting complex applications, and other program analysis methods
  • Understanding of web/application security threats and defenses, including code injection and XSS
  • Familiarity with OWASP guidelines and participation in Capture the Flag (CTF) events or similar security-focused communities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across functional teams
