Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Executive Director to provide technical and strategic leadership for our Technical Services and Materials Science (TSMS) operational function. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering manufacturing processes that are in control, capable, compliant, and continuously improving, to ensure on-time supply and alignment with Quality and HSE Manufacturing Standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic vision for TSMS at Elanco, in collaboration with the Senior Manufacturing Global leadership team.
- Assure that appropriate process capability strategies are deployed at sites and external manufacturers to deliver manufacturing processes that meet quality and regulatory standards.
- Grow the talent pipeline in the TSMS functions through recruitment strategies, succession planning, and development of key talents within the TSMS networks.
- Facilitate resolution of complex process capability-related issues through deployment of Central TSMS resources and oversight of investigations and remediation programs.
- Partner with R&D to deliver on-time launch of new product innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or pharmacy.
- 15+ years' experience in scientific/engineering-related areas, including quality, tech services, engineering, in the life sciences industry.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience with FDA/EU GMP regulatory requirements for process development/registration.
- Master's degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotech Processing).
- Strong understanding of Statistics and/or Six Sigma.
- Demonstrated technical abilities in multiple technology platforms.
- Demonstrated skills in creating alignment, fostering change, developing high-performing teams, and growing the next level of leaders.
- Demonstrated operational strategy problem-solving experience, identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities.
- Deep understanding of the product development lifecycle, including regulatory engagement over multiple product platforms.
- Track record of working with global teams to enable goal delivery.
- Ability to travel 30%, including international travel.
