Key Responsibilities:

  • Litigation and Claims Oversight: Manage various legal disputes including product liability, employment-related claims, and intellectual property issues. This involves defending against personal injury claims, overseeing employment litigation, and managing environmental litigation related to past manufacturing sites.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to consumer safety regulations and manage investigations by regulatory bodies. This includes overseeing compliance with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and the FDA.
  • Risk Management: Direct global risk management initiatives and insurance programs, ensuring comprehensive coverage across various liabilities including commercial general liability and workers' compensation.
  • Preventative Legal Counseling: Provide strategic legal advice to mitigate risks and guide the company through crisis management and product warranty issues.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Must be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in sophisticated litigation and regulatory matters.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven expertise in product liability and commercial litigation.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and insurance frameworks.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
