Key Responsibilities of the Pre-Owned Truck Sales Consultant:

  • Achieve truck sales through proactive outreach via phone and in-person interactions with prospects and clients.
  • Expand the customer base and meet market share objectives through effective sales calls, needs assessment, presentation selling, closing deals, and ensuring after-sales support for our valued clients.
  • Act as the primary liaison for customers with our dealership and manufacturers.
  • Facilitate the transition to the financial services team and execute sales transactions efficiently.
  • Oversee all aspects of the truck sale, including preparation and delivery.
  • Manage post-sale customer support to ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop product knowledge, generate customer leads, and prepare tailored sales proposals based on customer needs.
  • Conduct trade appraisals as necessary.
  • Implement a strategic approach to increase sales of on-highway, medium-duty, and vocational trucks.
  • Coordinate the movement of trucks as required.
  • Provide management with regular market and sales forecasts, along with updates on sales activities and outcomes.
  • Participate in customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events as assigned.
  • Maintain accuracy in Sales Overdrive/CRM by documenting all sales interactions.
  • Uphold the dealership's reputation by delivering exceptional customer service and offering comprehensive solutions for all parts, service, and truck sales needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including Daimler Trucks North America and other vendors, as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. A combination of education, training, or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is preferred. Additional training in heavy-duty truck repairs is a plus.
  • Skills: Ability to understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting retail automotive sales, and to set personal sales goals with a plan to achieve them.
  • Licenses: A valid driver's license is required.
  • Appearance: All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
