About the Role

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Aiken, SC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume technical responsibility for one or more phases of a program and/or ownership for unit operations within processing facilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide innovative improvements to existing processes.
  • Perform comprehensive engineering solutions to broadly defined and moderately complex activities.
  • Perform studies, development, testing, and analysis of designs, processes, and/or procedures as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Explore approaches and recommend improvements under moderate guidance from Manager and/or higher-level engineers.
  • Collaborate with facility/department colleagues.
  • Apply training of SRMC and specific department systems, methodologies, and requirements for accomplishing tasks.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university; or
  • Currently working towards a Master's Degree in Engineering or closely related STEM field from an accredited college or university with expected graduation by August 31, 2025 (applicant must include expected graduation date on resume); or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with professional engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with 2+ years professional engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices to develop appropriate outputs.
  • Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a changing environment with multiple demands and priorities.
  • Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Sound technical knowledge base of discipline's standard concepts, principles, and techniques with the ability to apply formal training.
  • GPA of 2.8 or higher (please list GPA in the profile).

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site's Liquid Waste operations contract.
