About the Role

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a highly skilled Associate Engineer to join our team in Aiken, SC. As an Associate Engineer, you will play a key role in implementing solutions to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and nuclear needs to meet standards set by the Department of Energy (DOE) for the Savannah River Mission Completion project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop conventional engineering and scientific solutions to technical tasks or project objectives.
  • Learn SRMC and specific Department systems, methodologies, and requirements for accomplishing tasks.
  • Assist more senior engineering personnel in performing related activities in more complex tasks.
  • Accept delegated technical responsibility for a limited phase of a scientific or engineering program.
  • Support engineers or scientists performing related phases of a program.
  • Assist in studies, development, testing, and analysis of designs, processes, or procedures related to a limited phase of a system or program.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (other than Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear) from an accredited college or university.
  • Currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (other than Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear) from an accredited college or university with expected graduation by August 31, 2025 (applicant must include expected graduation date on resume).
Preferred Qualifications
  • No work experience is required, but previous Internship with Savannah River Site or other related work experience while obtaining a degree is preferred.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Able to communicate in a clear and professional manner with various levels of employees to include explaining technical details to a non-technical person.
  • GPA of 2.8 or higher (please list GPA in the profile).
About SRMC

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site's Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor. The SRMC Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site's Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations, and associated production and disposal facilities.
