Job Title: Senior Electrical Power Engineer

Join our team of experienced professionals at Utility Technology Engineers as a Senior Electrical Power Engineer. As a key member of our electrical design team, you will be responsible for leading electrical design projects from conceptualization to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead team members on electrical design projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project scope and budget.
  • Develop and implement electrical design solutions for power substations, transmission lines, distribution lines, load-side generation facilities, SCADA systems, and industrial distribution systems.
  • Conduct system studies, including short circuit, arc flash, protective coordination, load flow, cost of service, rate, and economic feasibility.
  • Communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors to ensure project success.
  • Prepare electrical packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, Request for Qualifications (RFQ's), technical bid evaluations, and purchase recommendations.
  • Review electrical equipment, vendor drawings, and data to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, detailers, and designers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Participate in project schedule development, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning.
  • Manage change orders and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Apply expert knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
  • Apply knowledge and experience in complex projects and finding non-standard design solutions.
  • Quality review of production drawings, calculations, and specifications.
  • Oversee construction administration, including coordination with field personnel to resolve design-related installation issues, calculations, field inspections, and testing of electrical systems.
  • Lead field inspections, installation, measurements, or calculations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum five years of work experience in a power engineering environment.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred; or must be willing to become a Registered Professional Engineer when qualified.
