  • Strategic planning for water and wastewater systems
  • Design and management of potable water supply systems
  • Development of conveyance and storage solutions
  • Design and analysis of sanitary conveyance systems
  • Hydraulic modeling and design
  • Preparation of feasibility studies and master plans
  • Creation of engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Collaboration with regulatory bodies for project approvals

Key areas of expertise may include:

  • Management and planning of potable, raw, and recycled water delivery systems
  • Design of groundwater supply systems, including well development
  • Design of conveyance systems, such as pipelines, pump stations, and reservoirs
  • Conducting water supply assessments and master planning
  • Hydraulic analysis of pressurized systems
  • Water quality assessment and treatment methodologies
  • Management and planning of sewer systems
  • Design of collection systems, including gravity and pumped sewer pipelines
  • Operational control systems, including SCADA technology

The responsibilities of this position will be multifaceted, encompassing both Business Development and Operational Management. The selected candidate will report directly to the Water/Wastewater Practice Leader and will collaborate with various business units.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Oversee client relationships and ensure an exceptional client experience within the Water/Wastewater sector
  • Drive new business development, lead client teams, and assess technology trends
  • Manage client relationships and enhance overall client satisfaction
  • Evaluate project manager performance on client projects
  • Conduct surveys to gauge client experience
  • Guide project managers on client expectations and provide constructive feedback
  • Support project recovery efforts and assist with collections as necessary
  • Work with the Market Leader to identify and pursue specific project opportunities
  • Make strategic decisions regarding project pursuits and staffing
  • Ensure client profitability and manage contract terms and revenue forecasts

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on environmental engineering or water/wastewater systems
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the relevant state
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering project delivery
  • At least 5 years in a business development capacity within the municipal sector

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 20 years of relevant experience
  • Experience collaborating with local water/wastewater agencies and regulatory bodies
  • Expertise in water and sewer master planning
  • Familiarity with state water and wastewater regulations
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as Civil3D, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, and Excel
