Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to work alongside the Behavior Intervention Class teacher, providing support to students with behaviors that significantly impact their academic and social adjustments. The successful candidate will focus on behavior intervention, social skills development, and academic support, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for students in the behavior intervention classroom.
  • Enter and track student data, including progress in Xlogs.
  • Assist in de-escalating students and removing disruptive behaviors in the classroom.
  • Support teachers with behavior management and provide training on discipline strategies.
  • Co-plan and co-teach social lessons with the behavior intervention teacher.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in small groups or individual settings.
  • Model discipline strategies for teachers and collaborate with the curriculum department to develop aligned social lessons.
  • Manage and distribute discipline management resources to teachers.
  • Observe and provide feedback to teachers to adjust interventions as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree or two years of study at an institute of higher learning.
  • Preferred: Educational Aide Certification or college hours towards Education Certification.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain emotional control under stress, and frequently engage in physical activities such as standing, stooping, and lifting. The successful candidate will also be required to assist students with physical and emotional disabilities.
