Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

SUN Behavioral Houston is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health conditions. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:Clinical/Technical Skills (40% of performance review)
  • Provide nursing care through physical and mental assessments, laboratory testing, plans of care, and therapeutic treatments.
  • Conduct admission and daily shift nursing assessments for all patients, identifying and managing patient medical conditions and changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications utilizing safe medication practices and according to policy.
  • Establish and maintain individualized treatment plans depending on patient need.
  • Work as an active member of the team and communicate with team members regarding patient care issues.
Safety (15% of performance review)
  • Strive to create a safe, healing environment for patients and family members.
  • Follow all safety rules while on the job.
  • Report near misses, errors, and accidents promptly.

Qualifications:

Education: Required: Associates degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Current Registered Nurse license in the state of employment. CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification.

Experience: Preferred: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.
