Job Overview

Position Summary

The Inventory Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of inventory levels, reducing losses, and protecting company resources. This is achieved through daily inventory assessments, implementing theft prevention strategies, and performing reconciliations through necessary adjustments. The role involves providing comprehensive analysis on inventory discrepancies and offering corrective measures to avert future variances. The specialist will serve as a key point of communication regarding inventory challenges and trends among the warehouse, Operations Manager, and Purchasing team.


Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to the role, and additional tasks may be assigned to align with business requirements:

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Compensation: $20/hour

  • Conduct and coordinate daily cycle counts as directed by the ERP system.
  • Investigate and audit known loss sources.
  • Monitor inventory levels to detect theft or shortages.
  • Identify, propose, and implement strategies to reduce inventory loss.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies in accordance with established policies.
  • Prepare and present daily variance justification reports to management.
  • Communicate and develop process improvements as necessary; perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and suggest enhancements to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with key personnel to effectively implement operational improvements aimed at optimizing inventory accuracy and productivity.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in inventory management within a distribution environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Basic mathematical proficiency.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Capability to operate equipment such as Forklifts and Order Pickers (training provided).


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Positions in this role may require lifting up to 15 lbs and standing or walking for extended periods. Operation of machinery may also be necessary.
