Position Overview:

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) provides comprehensive maternity care and guidance to expectant mothers, covering all aspects of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum care. This role includes managing the medical needs of patients throughout the maternity cycle, from antepartum to postpartum phases, as well as gynecological care. The CNM is responsible for delivering age-appropriate patient assessments, treatments, education, and follow-up care, adhering to the established protocols and policies governed by the State of California Nurse Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver standard maternity care, including pain management and delivery options.
  • Oversee patient care throughout the maternity cycle, ensuring adherence to medical standards.
  • Provide education and support to patients regarding childbirth and postpartum care.
  • Maintain compliance with ambulatory care and inpatient procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Master's degree in nursing.

Certifications:

Must hold a valid RN license in California, CNM certification, and BLS certification as required by the department.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in maternity care is preferred.

Skills:

Proficient in providing medical care to pregnant women, with a solid understanding of community resources and referral processes. Strong analytical and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Familiarity with electronic health records and laboratory information systems is required.

Physical Requirements:

Must meet the physical demands and working conditions as outlined in the job requirements.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts.
