Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector to join our team at BWX Technologies, Inc. in Euclid, OH. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products by conducting inspections and testing to verify conformance to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Products: Conduct inspections and testing to verify conformance to specifications, including first piece inspection and inspection of complex castings, forgings, and in-process and completed product.
  • Document Nonconformances: Accurately document nonconformances found during inspections.
  • Record Data: Accurately record all required data on records, logs, data sheets, routings, sketches, and reworks.
  • Operate Complex Inspection Devices: Accurately use a wide variety of complex inspection devices, such as plates, comparators, verniers, jo-blocks, snap gages, mics, electronic indicators, scales, and calipers.
  • Pass Certification Exams: Pass the Alloy Identity Certification and become certified for the walky stacker, and be able to use a hoist if needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalence.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' related quality inspection experience, including reading and interpreting blueprints and operational sketches, using a variety of complex inspection gages, applying basic math skills, and interpreting and following operating procedures.
  • Skills: Thorough understanding of ANSI Y14.5, GD&T, and necessary skills to interpret and follow operating procedures, and maintain accurate documentation of inspection data.
  • Computer Skills: Sufficient computer skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Meet required vision standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Quality Inspection Experience: Proficiency in quality inspection experience.
  • Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in blueprint reading.
  • GD&T: Proficiency in GD&T.
Working Conditions

The Quality Inspector will work in a manufacturing environment and will be required to work any shift assigned after training, including an off shift. 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm) **AND** 3rd shift (11pm - 7am).

Compensation and Benefits

The Quality Inspector will be compensated at a rate of $33.85/hour and will be eligible for benefits, including medical and dental benefits, vision, 401k company match, and time off.
