ROLE SUMMARY
The Music Education Facilitator position at New City Kids focuses on training and supporting teenage music instructors to conduct engaging music sessions for children aged 6-13.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct group music sessions - Instruct teen music instructors on instrumental techniques and effective class leadership.
- Observe and mentor teen instructors - Provide constructive feedback and coaching to enhance teaching methodologies and classroom dynamics.
- Monitor student progress - Assess student growth and collaborate with the Music Director on educational frameworks.
- Assist in performance preparation - Guide teens in readying themselves for musical showcases.
- Promote the overarching vision of the Music School - Embody and support the principles and objectives of New City Kids.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Instrument Proficiency - Strong skills in Piano; familiarity with Bass Guitar and Drums is advantageous.
- Musical Knowledge - Competence in reading music notation and understanding various musical instruments.
- Public Speaking Skills - Ability to engage and communicate effectively with groups, particularly children.
- Passion for Music Genres - Enjoyment in teaching styles such as gospel and pop music.
- Alignment with New City Kids Values - Dedication to the mission and vision of the organization.
- Teaching Proficiency - Capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse age groups.
- Classroom Leadership - Experience in guiding educational sessions towards achieving learning goals.

POSITION DETAILS
- Work Schedule: 8-10 hours per week
- Employment Type: Part Time, Non-exempt
- Compensation: $20-30/hr (dependent on experience)
- Supervisor: Music Director
