The Coating Operations Specialist role involves hanging uncoated components on racks for the painting process, unloading painted components, and assisting in the packaging operations. This role also necessitates interpreting blueprints, identifying, tracking, and tagging the correct components, along with masking and plugging tasks according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct primary cleaning tasks by utilizing air to remove abrasive media from blasted components.
- Collect components from the blaster.
- Retrieve components from the oven.
- Cross-train in various functions.
- Provide assistance wherever necessary.
- Understand and comply with ISO regulations for all quotes, orders, revisions, and related communications.
- Maintain market and customer data for easy access and comprehension.
- Engage professionally and effectively with Sales, Engineering, and Production teams.
The safety standards and physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. - Employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Employee must possess the ability to read, see, hear, and communicate in English.
- This position requires frequent physical exertion. The incumbent will often need to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, and larger amounts with assistance. The incumbent may also need to operate cranes and forklifts.
- The work environment includes a warehouse and fabrication shop, exposing the employee to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
- Position entails limited exposure to outdoor elements (extreme heat, cold temperatures, snow, ice, etc.).
- Employee may be required to use tools, including but not limited to: basic hand tools, saws, grinders, mills, lathes, electrostatic paint guns, and powder guns.
- Employee must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toed boots, along with any other PPE as mandated in the production area. PPE will be provided by the company, except for steel-toed boots.
- Employee must focus fully on all tasks.
- Employee will adhere to all safety policies, practices, and guidelines, ensuring all safety requirements are met or exceeded while performing all tasks.
- Employee will work to identify hazards and unusual circumstances and will contribute to the continuous improvement of safety practices and procedures.
- Employee will participate in safety training programs.
- Employee will ask questions, share insights, and apply learning.
- Employee will seek assistance (if needed) to perform all work safely.
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Experience: Relevant experience preferred.
