The Identity & Access Management (IAM) division is tasked with managing user access across the Windows and mainframe environments for all internal users at Schwab. This encompasses systems such as Active Directory, Exchange, TSO/Beta, SecurID, VAS-enabled UNIX, Remedy, and various other Schwab business applications.

This individual contributor role of Senior Mainframe Security Engineer involves supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining the mainframe security environment, specifically Top Secret, with a strong focus on risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee mainframe system security and overall system health.
- Create, support, and maintain system IDs.
- Develop and maintain the operating system.
- Conduct audit reporting and provide support.
- Manage mainframe certificate administration.
- Customize security products and formulate mainframe strategy.

A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within teams, completing tasks with minimal supervision. Strong customer service, written, and verbal communication skills are essential. Responsibilities also include conducting audits, generating reports for system IDs and infrastructure, and investigating incidents related to violations, including responses to RACF and Top Secret infrastructure.

Strategic Contributions:
The individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the RACF and Top Secret architecture at Schwab, reviewing Mainframe Security, and identifying opportunities for risk mitigation, enhancement, and areas necessitating immediate attention.

Qualifications

Required:
- 4-6 years of experience in mainframe security across multiple operating systems, including Windows, Unix, and mainframe systems, specifically RACF and Top Secret security systems.

Preferred:
- Ability to analyze complex business and system requirements.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Experience leading small teams in technical tasks.
- Proactive in anticipating technical issues that require resolution for success.
- Proficient in interfacing with business and technology partners on projects.
- Strong analytical, technical, strategic, and communication skills.
- Proven track record of achieving success on large, complex initiatives.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
