Job Title: Biologist

At Spectraforce Technologies, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced research scientist to join our Protein Sciences group in the Chicago area.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in recombinant protein purification, protein characterization with biophysical methods, and good record keeping and attention to detail.

We are looking for a team player who can work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, with a strong ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform purification of recombinant proteins using chromatographic methods.
  • Characterize protein with SDS-PAGE, western blot, and other biophysical methods.
  • Drive for improved process performance and provide scientific insight to overcome issues.
  • Ensure experiments are planned and coordinated cross-functionally and executed effectively.
Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or other relevant biological sciences.
  • Experience in protein expression and purification.
  • Familiarity with the AKTA system is a plus.
  • Prior experience in supporting protein X-ray crystallography and biophysical characterizations of proteins is preferred.
Top Priorities:
  • Protein purification experience.
  • Characterization of protein samples via SDS-PAGE, western blot, TSA.
  • On-site full-time position.
