Job Title: Seafood Associate Team Leader

As a Seafood Associate Team Leader at Whole Foods Market - Ponce de Leon, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of our seafood department. You will be responsible for assisting the team leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Maintain Store Layout and Product Merchandising: Create visually appealing store displays and product arrangements that drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Work with Team Leader to Achieve Sales and Labor Targets: Collaborate with the team leader to set and achieve sales and labor targets, ensuring the department meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Assist with Sales and Expense Analysis: Help the team leader analyze sales reports and labor data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support Annual Sales and Expense Projections and Budget Preparation: Assist the team leader in preparing annual sales and expense projections and budget, ensuring the department is aligned with company goals.
  • Assist with Ordering and Inventory Management: Work with the team leader to manage inventory levels, ensure accurate ordering, and minimize waste.
  • Resolve Team Concerns and Issues: Address team concerns and issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Function as Point Person and Departmental Person in Charge: Take on additional responsibilities in the absence of the team leader, ensuring seamless department operations.
  • Set and Achieve High Standards of Retail Execution: Maintain high standards of retail execution, ensuring excellent customer service, visual merchandising, and store appearance.
  • Foster a Positive Team Environment: Encourage and promote a positive team environment, fostering outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Maintain Awareness of Customer Flows and Needs: Monitor customer flows and needs, directing team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Communicate and Model Company Vision and Goals: Consistently communicate and model the company's vision and goals, ensuring alignment with company values and objectives.

Experience:
  • 18+ Months Retail Team Member Experience: Possess 18+ months of retail team member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Lifting and Standing: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
  • Hand Use and Motion: Use single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling, with work requiring bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to Cleaning Chemicals and Extreme Temperatures: Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to Work in a Wet and Cold Environment: Ability to work in a wet and cold environment, with the ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
  • Flexible Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
