Position Overview: The Multidisciplinary Radar Engineering Specialist role encompasses a diverse range of duties across engineering, geology, geophysics, geodesy, radar technology, data management, software development, remote sensing, electrical engineering, and cGNSS installation. This position involves both geodetic field engineering and research and development in physical science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Radar Technology Development: Lead or contribute to the advancement of radar technology for SAR/NISAR corner reflectors utilized in remote and challenging environments.
  • Calibration and Validation: Collaborate with team members on the collection and integration of radar data, InSAR imagery, cGNSS positions, Lidar, RTK measurements, and calibration/validation hardware to minimize errors and enhance imagery quality.
  • cGNSS Network Development: Conduct reconnaissance, coordinate with stakeholders for land access, and oversee the configuration and preparation of materials for cGNSS installations across various locations.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical lead for software implementation on the company’s dataflow systems, including GIS software tools and radar data.
  • Equipment Configuration and Testing: Oversee the configuration, testing, quality control, and state-of-health assessment of cGNSS, telemetry, and radar calibration/validation equipment.
  • Design and Integration: Design and test complex telemetry and geophysical sensor systems, ensuring their integration into larger systems with varying security requirements.
  • Liaison Duties: Act as a liaison with State and U.S. Federal Agencies, International Institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Manage and implement a variety of complex geophysical projects, including logistics, site selection, licensing, installation, maintenance, and data flow.
  • Geological Assessments: Contribute to geological evaluations for new installations of cGNSS and radar calibration/validation equipment.
  • Innovative Solutions: Develop unique solutions to intricate technical challenges, addressing hardware, firmware, software, and logistical issues.
  • Documentation: Generate comprehensive technical documentation, process designs, and necessary reports, ensuring all related documentation is completed accurately.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, geophysics, geoscience, or a related field, along with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with eight years of experience or a Ph.D. with four years of relevant experience is acceptable. Professional certifications are preferred, and possession of a security clearance is advantageous.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to manage fieldwork in diverse and challenging environments.
