FEMA Disaster Management Specialist

CDM Smith is seeking a highly skilled FEMA Disaster Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our disaster response team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and effective delivery of disaster recovery services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and conduct site inspections with applicants to assess disaster-related damage
  • Perform accurate quantification and detailed descriptions of disaster-related damage
  • Take photographs and complete sketches of sites to document damage
  • Engage technical specialists as needed throughout the process
  • Obtain applicant representatives' agreement that all disaster-related damage was described and quantified correctly
  • Provide completed site inspection information in a timely manner
  • Develop scopes of work using code and standard requirements
  • Work with applicants to prioritize their projects and meet regularly on status
  • Evaluate applicant-provided cost claims for reasonableness to report to FEMA regarding claim eligibility
  • Participate in and assist with the development of final determinations while participating in regular FEMA meetings

Requirements:

  • 5 years of in-field experience or 2 years of in-field experience with a bachelor's degree
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Domestic travel required
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and remain flexible
  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines, scheduling, safety regulations, etc.
