Position Summary:
The Rental Equipment Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections to ensure equipment is rental-ready. This role involves assisting with the pickup and return of equipment, maintaining an organized equipment yard, and ensuring cleanliness and orderliness of rental items. The inspector will also aid in unloading trucks and perform minor maintenance on rental equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection Duties: Assess returned rental equipment for defects, report damages to supervisors, and document equipment conditions to facilitate repair cost recovery.
  • Yard Management: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the equipment yard, ensuring all rental items are stored properly and kept in good condition.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time and workload based on supervisory direction, ensuring a productive work environment.
  • Additional Tasks: Attend training sessions, perform pre-delivery inspections, assist in the delivery of small rental items, and undertake other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Possess a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency with two-way radios and email.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Capability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to learn and obtain necessary certifications for equipment operation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic hand tools ownership.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
This role involves outdoor work at branch facilities and may require travel to various locations. Candidates must be able to lift and move heavy equipment, operate machinery safely, and adhere to safety protocols.
