POSITION SUMMARY

The primary role of the Relationship Specialist I is to deliver exceptional member experiences during every interaction, whether in-person or via phone. This includes recognizing member cues, engaging with open-ended questions, and fostering both consumer and business relationships by understanding member needs and effectively presenting VyStar's financial solutions.

This pivotal position in relationship management requires the ability to articulate VyStar Credit Union's unique value proposition compared to competitors, emphasizing the importance of educating and proactively assisting members in achieving their financial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilize each member interaction, whether over the phone or face-to-face, to create remarkable member experiences, from welcoming greetings to enhancing relationships through meaningful conversations and effective cross-selling of credit union solutions.
  • Identify member cues and ask open-ended questions to cultivate consumer and business relationships by discerning member needs.
  • Understand and appropriately position consumer and business deposit, credit, insurance, and investment solutions.
  • Process personal and business account transactions, open new accounts, and manage various loan applications.
  • Explain fundamental credit and savings options while effectively referring more complex business products, mortgage solutions, investment opportunities, and insurance services.
  • Provide additional member services such as account maintenance, notary services, wire transfers, savings bond redemptions, safe deposit box services, fraud claims, and credit card disputes.
  • Support and engage in all Credit Union initiatives and campaigns.
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion while adhering to established guidelines and limits.
  • Work independently to achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism at all times.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with members and partners consistently.
  • Resolve member issues independently, striving for solutions and escalating more complex matters as necessary.

  • Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION

A High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Prior experience in sales and/or customer service, community service, or military service is preferred, particularly within a financial institution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience in sales and/or customer service, preferably in a financial institution, community service, or military service is preferred. Must possess excellent listening skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in using the Internet and Microsoft Office is required. A friendly personality and a strong desire to assist others are essential. Professional appearance and demeanor are expected. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is necessary. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills are required.
