POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of the Relationship Specialist I involve delivering exceptional member experiences during every interaction, whether in-person or via phone. This role requires the ability to recognize member cues, engage with open-ended questions, and cultivate both consumer and business relationships by accurately identifying member needs and effectively presenting VyStar's financial solutions.

This essential position in relationship management necessitates a clear understanding of VyStar Credit Union's unique value proposition compared to competitors, as well as the ability to educate and assist members in achieving their financial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilize each member interaction, whether on the phone or in-person, to create outstanding member experiences, from initial greetings to enhancing relationships through meaningful conversations and effective cross-selling of credit union solutions.
  • Identify member cues and employ open-ended discovery questions to foster consumer and business relationships by discerning member needs.
  • Understand and appropriately position various consumer and business deposit, credit, insurance, and investment solutions.
  • Process personal and business account transactions, open new accounts, and manage various loan applications.
  • Explain fundamental credit and savings options while effectively referring more complex business products, mortgage solutions, investment options, and insurance services.
  • Provide additional member services, including account maintenance, notary services, wire transfers, savings bond redemptions, safe deposit box services, fraud claims, and credit card disputes.
  • Support and engage in all Credit Union initiatives and campaigns.
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion while adhering to established guidelines and limits.
  • Work independently to achieve objectives while demonstrating a high level of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with members and partners consistently.
  • Resolve member issues independently, striving for solutions that lead to a positive outcome, while escalating more complex concerns as necessary.
  • Embrace VyStar's Standards of Excellence, Behaviors of Excellence, and the Great 8 Member Service Commitments.
  • Actively lead by example through community service initiatives that support the VyStar brand.
  • Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION

A High School Diploma or GED is required, while an Associate's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Prior experience in sales and/or customer service, community service, or military service is preferred, particularly within a financial institution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience in sales and/or customer service roles, preferably in a financial institution, is highly valued. Candidates should possess:

  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using the Internet and Microsoft Office applications.
  • An outgoing personality with a strong desire to assist others.
