Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations Management: Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and issue custom daily and weekly reports, and perform month-end closing tasks, including GL account analyses and reconciliations, review and true up of prepaids and accruals, and reporting to meet deadlines.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Fixed Asset Management: Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking and depreciation.
  • Capex Support: Assist other departments with Capex requests, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Standard Cost Analysis: Support the Controller in analyzing and determining standard costs, ensuring they accurately reflect production operations.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Compliance and Audits: Ensure adherence to finance policies and procedures, and participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems.
  • Team Collaboration: Share expertise and insights with accounting staff to improve practices and processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in similar accounting roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with at least intermediate-level skills in Excel and some experience with PowerPoint.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a deadline-oriented mindset.
  • Analytical Skills: Proactive and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • ERP System Knowledge: Eager to learn our ERP system and enhance cost accounting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manufacturing Cost Accounting: Exposure to/experience in manufacturing cost accounting, including analyzing and reporting on manufacturing costs, margins, and variances.
  • Supervisory Experience: Some supervisory experience.
  • MS Dynamics GP: Working knowledge of MS Dynamics GP (Great Plains).
