We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team at EXPRESS EMPLOYMENT PROFESSIONALS. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing and reviewing business tax returns, with a focus on partnerships and corporations.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in delivering top-quality client service, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic tax planning advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses, including partnerships (Form 1065), S-Corporations (Form 1120S), and C-Corporations (Form 1120).
  • Conduct comprehensive tax planning and analysis to minimize tax liabilities for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, staying up to date on changes in tax code and regulations.
  • Provide strategic tax advice and consultation to clients regarding tax planning, structuring of business entities, and other financial matters.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and point of contact for tax-related inquiries.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize the client's financial position.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for business entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and accurate reflection of tax treatments.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide clients with insightful recommendations for tax planning and financial improvement.
  • Review work prepared by staff accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting and tax standards.
  • Collaborate with partners and other senior staff to manage client engagements and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist clients with tax audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and representing clients before tax agencies when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Public accounting experience with a strong focus on business tax returns for partnerships and corporations.
  • Proficient in tax preparation software, accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. tax code, including business, partnership, and corporate taxation rules and regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA license would be a plus but not mandated.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail when preparing and reviewing tax returns and financial statements.
  • Strong ability to identify tax issues, research solutions, and implement appropriate tax strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner to clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services while maintaining high client satisfaction.

This is a full-time position with benefits including PTO, sick pay, holiday pay, health insurance, and 401K. Salary: up to $105K depending on experience.
