Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and sanitizing work areas.
  • Executing preparation lists provided by culinary leaders.
  • Measuring and assembling ingredients such as stocks, sauces, and vegetables for cooking.
  • Creating basic dishes, including soups, salads, and desserts.
  • Ensuring proper storage and accessibility of all food items.
  • Following recipes meticulously, including accurate measuring, weighing, and mixing of ingredients.
  • Maintaining a tidy and safe workspace, including the proper handling of utensils and equipment.
  • Upholding food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitoring food and cooling room temperatures.
  • Evaluating ingredients received from suppliers.
  • Carrying out opening and closing kitchen procedures.
  • Operating kitchen appliances such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 months of experience in a kitchen preparation or cooking role.
  • Understanding of safety protocols, including safe temperature ranges for ingredients and food preparation to prevent foodborne illnesses.
  • A willingness to assist where necessary and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Capability to maintain composure and positivity in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately to meet the restaurant's standards.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for handling kitchen tools, such as knives.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, reach, bend, and handle high temperatures for extended periods.
  • Capacity to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Food Handler Certification is required.
