CMM Inspector

Qualifications

Level 1:
Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing setting, proficiency in basic shop mathematics, and capability to operate a CMM machine.

Level 2:
All Level 1 requirements plus a minimum of 5 years of inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing environment, along with the ability to set up and program a CMM with limited supervision.

Level 3:
All Level 2 requirements plus a minimum of 10 years of inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing environment, expertise in programming a CMM using CAD models independently, and the ability to create CAD models.

ITAR Compliance:
Must be a USA citizen or permanent resident.

  • Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing documented objective evidence of inspection status for products throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Develop and execute CMM programming utilizing current inspection software.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including rejection tags, corrective actions, and records supporting objective evidence.
  • Conduct and verify visual, dimensional, mechanical, and chemical inspection functions related to source, first article, receiving, in-process, final, and test operations using company or customer-supplied drawings, equipment, and/or procedures.
  • Create CMM programs for first article and production components.
  • Review and approve inspection/test data.
  • Perform manual inspection of products as required.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and procedures.
  • Collaborate with customer or government source inspection personnel.
  • Maintain inspection records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Understand and support the Quality Management System.
  • Generate and assist in the corrective/preventive action process and manage non-conforming material processes.
  • Utilize basic and advanced measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, scopes, etc.).
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
