Aerospace Inspector Job Description

Volt is seeking a skilled Aerospace Inspector to join our team. As a Quality Aerospace Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate products against customer and engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure conformity.
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials.
  • Perform inspections of parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable engineering criteria, documents, drawings, and workmanship standards.
  • Document results in various reports/logs and maintain accurate records of inspection.
  • Read and interpret information from planning documents, engineering drawings, quality control specifications, schematics, calibration reports, and quality inspection procedures.
  • Operate precision measurement equipment/devices and conduct functional testing of assembled units.
  • Ensure proper operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions and maintaining records of calibration activities.
  • Inspect and test products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure all production procedure specifications are met.
  • Process non-conformance reports and assist engineering and operations in the investigation of non-conformities.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures and complying with all applicable regulations.
  • Approve or reject finished products and determine specifications by reading blueprints, specifications, and other documents.
  • Discuss inspection results with responsible personnel and recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process.
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced and measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Conduct 6-Axis inspection with probe and laser scanner arm and inspection software.
  • Write detailed inspection reports and establish proper receiving inspection processes.
  • Comply with ITAR/EAR regulations and AS9100 Quality Management System, including internal auditing and specification review.
  • Assist with developing, maintaining, or updating employee work instructions and quality systems procedures.
  • Provide training to new and current employees and interface with customers, suppliers, and/or regulatory agencies as appropriate.
  • Produce and process NCMR reports and coordinate MRB reviews.

This is a Full-Time 1st Shift Opportunity with a competitive pay rate of $20-28/hr. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment and experience using electronic inspection equipment, such as coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs).
