Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to serve as a Patient Referral Liaison for our Oncology services. This role will be responsible for coordinating physician referrals and ensuring seamless communication between medical and surgical oncology services and community-based physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate physician referrals and facilitate access to subspecialty services
  • Provide direct access to subspecialty services for subspecialty physician consultation, hospital admission, and urgent/emergent care
  • Function as a physician advocate, facilitating prompt scheduling, rapid transfer, and continuing follow-up care for patients referred to MedStar Hospitals and Ambulatory Centers
  • Work with the interdisciplinary team throughout the continuum of care to facilitate diagnostic testing, consultation, treatment, and follow-up
  • Promote MedStar Health's clinical services, physicians, and programs within the medical community to increase patient referrals from existing providers and secure new business from non-referring physicians
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • 1-2 years of professional nursing experience required; previous outpatient/community service preferred
  • Experience in a sub-specialty (e.g. GI, Neurology, Oncology) preferred
  • RN-Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia (DC) upon hire required

MedStar Health offers a competitive salary range of $72,260.80 to $123,260.80, depending on experience.
