Job Title: Center Director

At Sylvan Learning, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Center Director to lead our team of educators and support staff in delivering high-quality educational services to our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall customer experience, sales, and local marketing strategies to achieve performance goals and grow the Center.
  • Oversee the day-to-day Center operations to ensure a consistent, quality educational experience for Sylvan customers while managing costs.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are executed according to Sylvan standards.
  • Manage and coach Center staff, serving as the principal point of contact for the Franchisee.
Essential Job Functions:
  1. Ensure timely and high-quality personal customer service response to all calls and walk-in inquiries.
  2. Manage the day-to-day operation of the Center.
  3. Meet sales and expense financial targets.
  4. Monitor and track Center performance, Profit and Loss controls, revenues, expenses, and fee collection.
  5. Select, develop, motivate, and monitor Center staff.
  6. Conduct regular performance reviews.
  7. Review all corporate communication and ensure communications flow to the Center's staff.
  8. Support Director of Education with ensuring good instructional management.
  9. Confers with customers at each stage of the customer lifecycle.
  10. Directs the sales and service process throughout the customer lifecycle to keep customers enrolled.
  11. Promotes financing options that meet the customer's needs and manages the application/closing process.
  12. Manages marketing and sales activities to drive new enrollments.
  13. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with teachers, educational specialists, and other school administrators and parent/teacher organizations.
  14. Conducts school visits to establish and maintain relationships with school personnel for partnership and marketing purposes.
  15. Ensures the professional appearance of the Center according to Sylvan standards.
  16. Ensures adherence to established Sylvan operating standards with particular attention to student safety and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Four-year degree required.
  • Two to three years of sales experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and other standard business applications used by the Center, including current social media tools.
  • Experience using social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and tablet computers preferred.
