Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, ensuring adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Work within the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
  • Participate in orientation and evaluation of new personnel, enhancing professional growth and development through educational programs and workshops.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families, adhering to hospital standards.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New Mexico or a reciprocal agreement state.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English and Spanish language proficiency.
  • Experience working in an emergency department or critical care setting.
