Job Summary

The Shift Monitor will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of our recuperative care facility, providing exceptional care to patients recovering from illness. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support clinical teams with admitting patients and discharging patients, ensuring a smooth transition of care.
  • Assist with patient needs, including laundry and cleaning, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members through Outlook and Teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  • Monitor client bed count and facility safety, taking prompt action to address any concerns.
  • Support patients and staff with meals and snacks, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Nursing Assistant Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of one year related experience, with a focus on working with the unhouse population.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Ability to maintain detailed records and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Work Environment

The work environment is characteristic of a medical clinic environment, with a focus on providing exceptional care to patients recovering from illness. The physical demands of this role include sitting, using hands and arms to reach, standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using substances and/or not attentive to personal health and safety for themselves or their homes. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client's use of alcohol and drugs, and the lack of personal care.

The employee may also be exposed to bodily fluids (blood, urine) and hazardous chemicals.
