Job Summary

Allina Health is a not-for-profit health system that prioritizes patient-centered care. We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute Transitional Rehabilitation Program.

Key Position Details
  • This is an in-patient transitional rehabilitation facility.
  • 8-hour shifts/ 0.8 FTE (64 hours per two-week period)
  • Permanent Evenings
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • SEIU union position
Job Description

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant will assist in the delivery of patient care. This includes performing personal care, collecting and documenting vital signs, and providing assistance with ambulation, transfer, and positioning.

The ideal candidate will have one year of nursing experience or completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program. A Certified Nursing Assistant certification from the MN Nursing Assistant Registry is required. Basic Life Support certification is preferred.

The Nursing Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient safety and comfort. They will be responsible for implementing activities of fall prevention plans, collecting and saving specimens, and providing assistance with admission, transfer, and discharge care.

The successful candidate will be a team player, committed to providing exceptional care to patients and their families. They will be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.

Physical demands of the job include lifting up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently. The Nursing Assistant will be required to use proper equipment and body mechanics to protect patients, self, and others from injury during transfers, lifts, and transports.
