Prior experience in finishing is highly desirable.
Safe handling of personal protective equipment (PPE) and effective communication skills are essential.
Meticulous attention to detail is crucial.
Education and Experience Requirements- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in wood finishing
- Experience within the aerospace sector is preferred
- Fundamental understanding of cabinet finishing techniques and materials.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates under general supervision to prepare furniture for finishing and disassembly utilizing blueprints, aircraft specifications, and design/engineering drawings.
- Conducts high-quality repairs on various finished surfaces both in the workshop and on aircraft.
- Applies finishes to furniture using spray equipment and various manual/mechanical techniques.
- Adheres to all safety protocols, 5S standards, and housekeeping regulations.
- Utilizes the material tracking system to generate parts demand, monitor issues, and sign-off on completed work.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with lead and more experienced technicians to identify and implement process enhancements.
Other Requirements:
- Possess a solid understanding of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications.
- Capable of climbing ladders and stairs, working in confined spaces, lifting up to 40 pounds, and adapting to any shift schedule.
- Must demonstrate computer proficiency.
