Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Russell County Hospital. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in preparing patients for nuclear medicine procedures and furnishing diagnostic information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate scintillation detectors to produce images and measure concentration of radioisotopes in specified body areas
  • Scan patients, making proper settings on gamma camera and manipulating computers to process studies
  • Read or survey the amount of radiation given off by certain radioactive material shipped to the department
  • Assay the radioactivity of newly arrived radiopharmaceuticals and measure the radioactive dosage prescribed for patients
  • Perform IV injections of Radiopharmaceuticals and follow all state and NRC regulations pertaining to the field of Nuclear Medicine
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate (GED or HISET) or confirmation of three years of experience in hospital/medical setting
  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant certification/registration is required for this position
  • AHA BLS is required for direct patient care provider
Work Requirements:

  • Weekends: Rotating
