Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN performs a variety of tasks to ensure the highest level of customer service and image quality in nuclear medicine and PET CT exams.
Key Responsibilities- Perform nuclear medicine exams following protocols and in a timely manner
- Receive, calibrate, log, administer, and monitor the decay of radioactive isotopes
- Provide radiation safety support in the event of a radiation incident/spill
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
- Record patients' medical information
- Coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete
- Inform patients about the procedure and answer questions
- Interact and professionally communicate with co-workers, physicians, patients, and family members
- Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required
- Adhere to the facility ICARE values
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments
- Prepare education the patient on discharge instructions
- Demonstrate the ability to perform technical skills and procedures
- Be knowledgeable in the handling of radioactive materials
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served
- Properly measure radioactive waste and know how to dispose of it properly in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine
- Current registry by CNMT or ARRT (N) is required
- BLS required
- PET CT experience preferred
- On call requirement for this role
