Job Title: Residential Support

Avondale House is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support to join our team. As a Residential Support, you will play a vital role in providing direct support to individuals with autism in our residential program.

Job Summary

The Residential Support will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the assigned residential home, coordinating house duties, and implementing individualized plans for each resident. This includes providing daily care, supervision, and support to residents, as well as maintaining a clean and safe living environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement daily routines and activities for residents, including meal preparation, medication administration, and recreational activities.
  • Provide direct support to residents with daily living skills, such as personal care, grooming, and hygiene.
  • Assist residents with daily tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
  • Monitor and report any changes in resident behavior or health status to the Program Manager.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized plans for residents.
  • Ensure compliance with Avondale House policies and procedures, as well as relevant state and federal regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a residential setting, preferably with individuals with autism or related handicapping conditions.
  • CPR certification.
  • Patient, authoritative personality.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to work in a way that demonstrates Avondale House's Core Values: Commitment, Achievement, Respect, Integrity, Nurturing, and Growth.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to implement CPI, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
  • Lifting/Moving up to 50 lbs and lifting moving up to 100 plus lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for 2-3 hours at a time.
  • Stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, kneeling, running, pushing and pulling may be required in this position.
  • Must be able to handle situations that may be stressful at times.
