Captain D's Cook Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Captain D's. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards, ensuring that our guests enjoy their meal and have a great experience at Captain D's.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare workstations, cooking ingredients, and kitchen equipment for cooking.
  • Cook and arrange food to meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Maintain a sanitized and well-organized kitchen, adhering to our strict health and safety protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring that it is in good working order.
  • Check the quality of the food product and ingredients, ensuring that they meet our standards.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients using various techniques, including chopping, slicing, and dicing.
  • Cook food using various culinary techniques, including grilling, roasting, and sautéing.
  • Arrange food and ensure appealing presentation, making sure that our dishes look as good as they taste.
  • Manage food storage, stock, and ingredient orders, ensuring that we have the right ingredients at the right time.
Requirements:
  • Must be Guest Focused, providing excellent customer service and ensuring that our guests have a great experience.
  • Must be able to learn and operate our kitchen equipment, including our cooking ranges and ovens.
  • Must desire an opportunity to learn and grow, taking on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Must be willing to learn and follow our sanitation procedures, ensuring that our kitchen is clean and safe.
  • Must showcase teamwork and communication skills, working effectively with our kitchen staff to ensure that we deliver excellent service.
  • Must showcase organizational skills, managing our kitchen inventory and supplies effectively.
  • Must be able to multitask and act quickly, responding to changing situations and priorities.
  • Must be able to work with a sense of urgency, meeting deadlines and delivering results.
