Job Summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a skilled Assembly Operations Specialist to join our team. As an Assembly Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for performing repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly Operations: Places parts in specified relationship to each other, bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Product Preparation: Cuts products to specific measurements as needed and removes defective products as required.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Tends machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line and works at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Quality Control: Works in an environment where tasks change as varying models of product are produced and ensures that products meet quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: No specific education or experience requirements, but prior carpentry experience is helpful.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, ability to write simple correspondence, verbal expression ability to effectively present information, and ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Work Environment

The Assembly Operations Specialist will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with continuous exposure to moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to airborne particles. The employee will be required to wear ear plugs for noise protection as well as eye protection and other personal protective equipment required by the location.
