About This Role

We're looking for a highly skilled Human Resources Expert to join our team at Target. As a member of our HR team, you'll be responsible for creating a welcoming experience for our guests, observing and understanding their needs, and providing expert solutions to ensure their satisfaction.

This role requires a strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment law, as well as experience using basic Office Suite computer and workforce management programs. You'll also need to be knowledgeable about industry-leading people and scheduling software.

As a Human Resources Expert, you'll work closely with your HR leader to anticipate and address specific talent and staffing needs for each area of the business. You'll execute intentional recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire talent with the right skills and experiences to best serve our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Create a welcoming experience for guests by authentically greeting them and understanding their needs
  2. Observe and quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact, following body language and verbal clues to tailor your approach
  3. Engage with guests in a genuine way, asking questions to better understand their specific needs
  4. Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
  5. Thank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target
  6. Work with your HR leader to anticipate and address specific talent and staffing needs for each area of the business
  7. Execute intentional recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire talent with the right skills and experiences to best serve our guests
  8. Support the training needs of your store's sales force and be an advocate for continuous learning
  9. Be an expert resource for scheduling systems and pay practices
  10. Act as an open door by listening to team members and collaborating with appropriate leaders to take action as needed
  11. Deliver on all Human Resources operational and cyclical programs
  12. Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  13. Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others, identifying and correcting hazards, and complying with all safety policies and best practices
