Position Summary
The Oncology Nursing Specialist delivers direct patient care in alignment with established protocols and policies of the healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care requirements.
- Execute physician orders effectively.
- Administer medications, manage dressings, monitor vital signs, and provide wound care.
- Act as the primary coordinator for multidisciplinary patient care.
- Document and communicate patient conditions accurately using electronic systems.
- Educate patients and their families on care processes.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to address discharge planning needs.
- Provide culturally competent care tailored to patient age and background.
- Mentor and orient new nursing staff.
- Adhere to Standard Precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.

Qualifications:
- Current Florida RN licensure or recognized compact licensure.
- BLS certification within 30 days and PALS certification within 90 days.
- Preferred oncology certification and experience with chemotherapy.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring frequent movement and lifting of patients or equipment up to 50 pounds.
