Job Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with a diverse team encompassing manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and procurement. This role is pivotal in providing technical support and direction to the manufacturing workforce and processes. When challenges or defects arise, the engineer will address the issues, revise pertinent documentation, and train personnel on the implemented changes. A successful manufacturing engineer must possess knowledge across various engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and testing.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented manufacturing engineer with expertise in the following areas:

  • Ability to interpret part and assembly drawings along with schematics, adhering to ASME Y14.5 – 2009 standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of standard manufacturing processes, inspection, and testing protocols.
  • Systematic approach to troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Capability to collect product data and assess process capability (Cpk).
  • Application of quality assurance standards (e.g., ISO, NADCAP), particularly in the MRB and disposition processes.
  • Management of engineering and documentation change control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and technical support for manufacturing processes utilized in producing Mirion Technologies products.
  • Training and offering technical guidance to manufacturing and testing teams.
  • Designing and creating manufacturing and testing tools.
  • Reviewing and updating designs to enhance manufacturability.
  • Organizing, planning, and maintaining production lines.
  • Enhancing existing operations by integrating new methods and processes.
  • Identifying opportunities to minimize production costs.
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical failures.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical engineering.

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.

Additional Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using physical measurement tools.
  • Experience in troubleshooting electronic systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with power and testing equipment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems is a plus.
  • Aptitude for developing and managing recordkeeping and data management systems, including software applications such as SAP, Autodesk Inventor, and JIRA.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to professional, ethical, and respectful interactions.
  • Willingness to travel as required, up to 50% domestically and internationally.
